The system, installed across the entire estate, comprised of bulkhead LED fixtures, with 70 % of these fixtures including an innovative emergency feature, enabled through the EyeNut Combined Emergency driver. Peabody is able to control both blocks from one central online secure hub via a Graphic User Interface (GUI). Case Study: West Ewell Train Station

ZX1 50W Retro LED gear trays directly replaced the existing reflector, gear housing and lens, utilising the same fixings for a simple plug and play retrofit solution. The light engine is sealed to achieve an IP66 level of protection from dirt and moisture ingress, delivering 7,272 lumens. The on-board sensor provides both occupancy and daylight detection, allowing the platform lighting to dim to 10% light output when no occupancy is identified.

Installation of the Retro LED unit took five minutes during the project. For the purposes of cost analysis, an installation time of 10 minutes has been used to allow for possible obstructions and delays on site.

THREE WAYS TO CONTROL LIGHTING IN OFFICES

The beauty of wireless is the freedom of flexibility. Not restricted by wires, a wireless lighting control solution allows you to be as flexible and as ingenious as possible. One of the most inspired benefits of EyeNut comes with the ease of reconfiguration in its application within an installation.
Buildings change. A factory may close and then re-open as a warehouse or call centre. Open-plan offices become cellular or vice versa. Meetings rooms come and go. Tenants move out of an office building, or it is sold to a new owner. Or maybe you wish to just re-arrange an existing office layout or use the space for other functions.

In all these situations, you are faced with having to change the existing lighting. This is where control systems, especially wireless, can help. EyeNut gives you the flexibility to quickly reconfigure the lighting with a few clicks of a mouse or a couple of taps on your tablet or smart phone.

This is a very common situation where a Category A speculative development is fitted with 600 mm x 600 mm panels. To play safe, the developer has lit the whole space to 500 lux. Older, existing buildings which are being refurbished may well have a similar type of lighting.

The problem for the Category A lighting designer is that the tasks and activities in the space are unknown. Therefore, the design cannot meet the requirements of BS EN 12464 since the task, immediate surround and background areas are unknown. Under these conditions, BS EN 12464-1 states: “...the whole area (should be) uniformly (Uo >0.40) lit to an illuminance level specified by the designer. If the task area becomes known, the lighting scheme shall be redesigned to provide the required illuminances”.

A lot of Cat A designs are only lit to 300 lux. The chances are that in this situation, you may need to add extra luminaires if dark furnishings, desk partitions or stud walls are installed when thete nant moves in. You will also have to add lighting if the tasks require more than 300 lux.
